Market Harborough

We're carrying out water improvements in Market Harborough. That's because the risk of bursts increases as the years pass so we're replacing some of the old pipes in your area with new ones.

Road closures and traffic lights

Due to the location of the pipe, and to keep you and our workforce safe, we have agreed with the local authority to complete a section of our work on Great Bowden Road to Fernie Road under traffic lights and a road closure for 6 weeks from 10 June 19. We'll then be doing the remainder of the work along Great Bowden Road under 2 and 3 way traffic lights. Please be aware a diversion will be in place and access will be maintained at all times to the train station and pedestrians.

We will be laying the new water pipe from the junction of Rockingham Road and Great Bowden Road from 10 June. To keep you and our team safe, we have agreed with the local authority to close a section of Great Bowden Road, a diversion will be in place.


Due to unforseen circumstances the work has been put on hold renewing the smaller water pipe. We will write with more details as soon as possible.

Upcoming work

Once we have completed the work on the busy junction for Great Bowden Road we will carry on working up Great Bowden Road using traffic lights to keep you and the team safe.

Every so often, we need to replace old water pipes. That's because the risk of bursts increases as the years pass - and we're really keen to avoid this. Therefore, we're going to replace the old smaller water pipes on Clarence Street and Kettering Road with brand new ones.

Road closures and traffic lights

Due to the location of the pipe and to allow us to carry out this work safely we’ve agreed with the local authority to carry out our work using a Road Closure on Clarence Street, when we move over the junction onto Kettering Road we will need to use lane closures on St Marys Road, multi way traffic lights and a One way system on Kettering Road. Access to business, homes and pedestrian walkways will be maintained at all times.

We've completed on Clarence Street and laying the pipe across the busy crossing down towards Kettering Road, four way traffic lights were in use whilst this work was carried out.

We're working down Kettering Road past the supermarkets laying the brand new water pipe.

Work is completed on Kettering Road, during May, we moved past the junction of Ashley Way and completed work towards Gores Lane.

 

We have now finished laying the pipe on Kettering Road and the public footpath between Kettering Road and Rockingham Road.

 

We have now laid the final stretch of pipe on Kettering Road from Jordan Close to Bellfields Lane.

We have replaced the brand new water pipe on Rupert Road.

 

We have finished work on the final section on Wester Avenue and have laid the brand new water pipe.

 

The team have replaced the old water pipe with a brand new one on Fairfax Road and any mess has now been cleared.
