In My Area

Burrough to Waltham

We’re carrying out some investigations to help us plan the water pipe replacement in the area.

Our progress so far

We’re going to be replacing some of the ageing pipes that have caused problems in the surrounding area. We’re working with organisations such as Historic England, Natural England and the local authorities in order to find a safe and secure route for the replacement pipe that won’t affect the sensitive spots in the area. The complexity of this scheme means that we need to do lots of work to make sure that the solution is the right one for everyone.

Road closure

A section of Little Dalby Road, adjacent to Gartree Hill Farm, will be closed between the 1 and 3 of February 2021. A signposted diversion route will be in place for the duration.

Upcoming work

This work is due to start week commencing 4th January 2021. Much of it will take place in private land, and we’re liaising with those landowners to minimise the impact of our works. Some of the site investigation work will be on public footpaths/tracks, but we’ll make sure that they’re still accessible.

From the 4 of February 2021, the work will move on to the road into Burton Lazars. As we’ll be digging a number of investigation holes, in or next to the road, we’ll set up temporary traffic lights to ensure everyone’s safety. During this work access to properties and traffic flow will be maintained.
