Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Responsibility (CR) is a broad area that covers everything from our approach to doing business to our commitments to safeguarding the environment and to building strong links with the communities around us. We don’t see CR as an add-on to our organisation – we believe it runs throughout our business.

Our Corporate Responsibility Strategy breaks down our CR work into four main areas. These are:

• Environment – our approach to climate change, water efficiency, pollution prevention, water quality, biodiversity and resource management
• Community – our education programme, employee volunteering, community investment and charitable giving
• Marketplace – our approach to working with suppliers, ensuring appropriate standards for health and safety, environment, ethics and human rights and our work with vulnerable customers.
• Workplace – our approach as a responsible employer covering health and safety, ethics, diversity of the workforce and employee motivation.
